About Our Founder

Melissa Phillips, MSW, RLCSWI

I am a Registered Clinical Social Worker Intern with a Master’s Degree in Social Work and over two decades of experience working with women, children, and families. My work has always been rooted in understanding people on a deeper level—helping them navigate life’s challenges with strength, clarity, and compassion.

Throughout my career, I have supported individuals through complex life transitions, grief, stress, and emotional overwhelm. I bring both clinical expertise and real-life experience into the therapy space, creating an environment that feels safe, grounded, and genuinely supportive.

My approach is warm, personalized, and confidential. I believe therapy should meet you where you are—whether that’s in a traditional office setting, virtually, in your home, or through a more integrative experience like Walk & Talk Therapy.

I am especially passionate about working with women and children, helping them reconnect with themselves, find balance, and move forward with confidence.

WHY WE CHOSE A PRIVATE PAY MODEL

At Gulf Coast Integrative Counseling, we believe mental health care should feel personal, private, and centered around your individual needs — not insurance requirements.

Insurance companies often require a mental health diagnosis, treatment limitations, and access to clinical records in order to approve coverage. By remaining a private pay practice, we are able to offer greater privacy, more personalized care, reduced wait times, and flexibility in treatment without many of those restrictions.

While we do not accept insurance directly, we are happy to provide superbills for possible out-of-network reimbursement depending on your plan.
